All I’ve Ever Been

A love poem to water

Pink blossom trees overhanging a beautiful still lake, a gently sloping bank just asking you to sit for while then dive in!

I let myself be water
As I finally choose to see
That deep within the mysteries
Of life, I’m always free

I let myself be water
As my tendencies to hide
Are loosening as the swell of beauty
Rises through my peace of mind

I struggled with my water
Because I refused to see
That deep within the mysteries of the soul
I’m running free

Coursing through the fields of battle
Ever flowing rhyme,
Past such scenes of devastation
Guardians of time

I’d forgotten I was water
As I tried to be
Something that was static
Cast in stone amid the stream

In the dream of sanctuary
I’ve finally deigned to tell
Stories of the gratitude
That lift my heart to swell

With the water’s majesty
And with her sacred flow,
As I return to that which courses
Humble through the gloam

In gratitude I rise
Amid the water’s folky rhyme,
Its purity immerses my
Intention to divine

The fear that I had lived within,
Believed myself to be,
It’s thus released and handed to
The flow of perfect peace

The mysteries that engulfed my mind
And left me crooked, bowed,
Are now revealed in candour
As my heart finds its way home

The spaciousness, a watery grave
That’s separation’s tomb
Is waiting with her open arms
I flow into her womb

As I become the ocean
With such startling clarity
I recognise within myself
It’s all I’ve ever been

Just.. Wait!

A perfect paradox

Just wait! Wait a moment
Do not troubled be,
That everything you had believed before
Is being released

Just wait! Wait deep within
The mystery that you’re shown,
Dismiss the need to understand
The beauty that you’ve sown

Wait! Wait for eternity
To open up inside,
It’s beating heart’s within your own
As you let yourself start to glide

Wait upon the moment
Of such glorious certainty,
That stops you in your tracks
And guarantees your future peace

Wait upon the something
That is pushing through the glebe,
Gasping for a breath of sunshine
On its tiny leaves

Wait within establishment
And watch its crumbling walls,
Apprehend its leaving
As within, without, it falls

Take your prior complexity
Uproot it at its core,
Loose the mind that sought for freedom
In the dearth of ‘more’

Feel your way to present bliss
As you begin to see
That everything you’ve ever dreamed of
Lives eternally

Nothing here in form
Can ever feed or ever give
The light you need
To understand what it is to live

Nothing here in form
Can ever feed or ever raise
The light you need to see within
For you to feel praised

Nothing in the nothingness of form
Can ever show
The beauty that admits a glimpse beyond
To what you’ve always known

Nothing in the nothingness of time
Can ever be
What you are, what you’re being given,
Just you wait and see!

This Blessed Flow

A poem about dissolving into the mind that writes the poetry

A moody cloudy red sky over a beautiful still ocean.

My mind, it thinks in poetry
I cannot quell this blessed flow,
As, hungry, I bequeath myself
To savoured riches I am shown

Cascading joys of ancient knowledge
Breaking through containered hoards
Of fantasy I drove before me,
Burdened by decisions worn

I humbly open to your mind
And let the hero of the dream,
The master I’d been playing
In the one repeating scene,

Return in his humility
To what he knows is ever true,
That all the meaning he’s been searching for
Is found in you

Between the saturated masts
That line the wild tempestuous bay,
I’m redefined in solitude
My fears are washed away

Remorse and ancient pity
Take their place now, side by side,
They’re sunk within the oceans
Of an ever grateful mind

And glinting on the surface
Of the ever changing whole,
Is changelessness itself
Arising in the wakening soul

It glistens at my heart as I
In decadence disband
The citadel that was constructed
With my charred and earth worn hands

A limitless horizon
Disappears before my eyes,
The world succumbs to beauty
And a fire fills the skies

The fire meets the water
And they merge into the one
That mystifies the mind
That separation has become

And I am lifted out of seeming
As I fall within
The body of this dreaming heart
That witnessed to my sin

The sin of separation
Is now gently washed away,
As deep within the waters of the mind
I find my way

Tsunami Rising

On being washed away forever

A very stormy sea with one enormous wave, a moody sky behind with the sun breaking through

The depths of life that spring from me
As I decide, within your freedom
Now, to let these mysteries
Evolve within your certainty

I witness to the rising of the tide
Upon a swelling sea,
A wave ascending in my breadth
Encompassing all I have been

Then bursting forth through troubled seams
That tried to hold and held no more,
Exploding past the girth
That I had tightened till my sides were sore

And as I seek to cast my net
In wider climes than heretofore,
I’m tumbled from the vessel
I’d been sailing to the shore

A vast arising wells below,
Upsetting all the plans I’d laid
Within my static grieving woe:
A desperate heart resolved to hide

With windows shaken to their soul
And shattered glass upon the floor,
I’m hurled into reality
A course I’ve never known before

I feel the wakings of a mind
That’s never let the love of souls
Interpolate, become at once
A dazzling faultless star filled whole

And in these dreams where memory
Had held itself so fast and sure,
Capitulation bows to freedom
Devastation rules no more

I wake into the breathless air
The sunshine beating on my skin,
I rise as from the depths of care
To claim what life is nourishing

I’m reconfigured from the old
Interpreted all fresh and new,
The language that I spoke before
Has been released, replaced, renewed

And as I cry humility
Comes rolling ‘cross the pummelled sands,
Approaching ever closer
To the place in which I stand

And as I laugh and let my mind
Be raised unto these heightened views,
I witness to the depths of life
Arising in myself in you

I Only Want to Hold You

A poem of discovering my home

Image created by the author with OpenAI Art Generator

The foxes have a hole
Within the comfort of the earth,
Their bodies curl together
In a gently warming hearth

Their tails wrap around their snuggle
Keeping out the cold,
The air is chill above them
But their comfort’s ages old

The birds they have a nest
Within the branches of the tree,
They rest together in the warmth
Of knowing they are free

They wake upon the morning’s air
And sing the moonlight home,
The atmosphere is wintry
But their hearts’ alive and grown

My heart is yours to rest within
My body’s out of time,
It’s energy is nourishing
The heart that is divine

The fountain at my centre
The pure vessel of my love,
Are gifts for your remembering
The grace that rains above

The only place the son of man
Has left to rest his soul,
Is in his brother’s mind
As we remember we are whole

The only warming body
That you have to lie within,
Is the body of the self
That holds us gently free from sin

We become the one
As we bring comfort to the mind,
That’s asking for the blessing
Of the heart that’s gentle, kind

We become the blessing
And our bodies perfect be,
As the fountain at our hearts
Is opened to eternity

Eternally I love you
And eternally I see,
That my desire to hold you
To the heart that’s flowing free

Can giftly be a comfort
And no need a burden be,
I only want to hold you
In the warmth of certainty

Freedom’s Welcome

Here are the lyrics to one of my songs

Author image thanks to NightCafe AI Art Creator

I don’t believe in the lightning that floors the trees
But in its passionate force I retrieve myself
Floating amid a dark storm I called grief
It’s a bolt driven home through insanity’s hold

And I won’t believe in the self that was hateful
I’m regenerated, born into stability
Wrapped in the grace of my own last resort
I find gentle humility turning to port

And my anchor’s not tied to the sea’s rocky floor
Where it ripped up the surface and cut to the core
It’s invested at last in a promise that’s kept
As eternity melts into all that I’d wept for

And rids me of any last necessity
To hold onto my fear or to doubt that I’m free
As the sun glistens clear through the depths of the waves
My presence is here and my past is erased

I am freedom’s welcome
The increase in gravity offers my gratitude
Peace and security
The dream state released to a certain reality
Home, I’m home, I’m home, I’m welcome home

And cast into the fire of all I once believed
Is the certain release of all I have perceived
And incredulously, I find myself free
When I choose to accept total responsibility

And the only response I can give
To all that I see now to ensure it lives
Is to breathe it on home, and to know that it’s mine
’Cause perception’s a dream, and reflections divine

Are created the moment I open my mind
To a generous beauty that words cannot find
I allow myself here, I allow myself now
Because everything else is as boring as hell

And reality’s sight is so deliciously
Full of light and of freedom, the juicy totality
Rises to greet the new mind that I am
And all my reflections stand here hand in hand

We are freedom’s welcome
The increase in sanity offers my gratitude
Peace and security
The dream state released to a certain reality
Home, I’m home, I’m home, I’m welcome home

Grace, so still, invisible to me
In each moment previously

Is holding my heart in the palm of its hand
Is providing the runway on which I can land
Is here and is now, in this space and this time
Is directing these passions, providing these rhymes

We are freedom’s welcome
The increase in frequency offers my gratitude
Peace and security
The dream state released to a certain reality
Home, I’m home, I’m home, I’m welcome home

We are freedom’s welcome
The increase in frequency offers my gratitude
Peace and eternity
The dream state released to a certain reality
Home, I’m home, I’m home, I’m welcome home

Ever Known

Words received in the wildness and openness of the full moon

Image created by author with NightCafe AI Art Generator

The wildness of the mind
That is discovering its way home
It reaches to the mind
Communicating with its own

Joining in the sultry light
The ever rising moon
Is casting on the shrubs
That skirt the desert’s holy runes

It wanders in the scrub
And finds its way by scent alone
To everlasting openness
Expanding through its starry dome

Into the gentle stillness
With the quiet night time sounds
Surrounding it, encapsulate
By air and solid ground

The mind that finds its way
Past evil traps to sacred ways
That travels forward to rescind
The painful darkest days

That casts intrepid light
Upon the core of what was heard
Just a moment previously
Unlearning all it learned

Unhearing all it heard
Now disillusioned to the sight
Of everything it thought it saw
Within the misty light

That opens into heartfelt sorrow
As the die is thrown
Into the abyss
Of all that heretofore was known

Waking as from dreams of horror
Mysteries shatter, fall
Into a billion pieces
As the battle cries its call

Out across deserted lands
That bleak and sombre seemed
To lie in wait before you
Now transformed and blessed, redeemed

Into this courageous mind
That is washed clean, prepared for new
Enters the beginning
Of a new and precious truth

Entering the sunset
Of a peace that calls it home
To where it’s ever tranquil
Ever nourished, ever known

Listen

A poem received in a moment of listening

Image created by author with NightCafe AI Art Generator

There’s a silence that is golden
That is falling all around
If you listen you can hear it
In the air and through the ground

There’s a peaceful marching power
That is growing ever strong
In the mystery of this instant
You can feel it striding on

It’s the whirling of the rushing wind
The motion of the sea
The coursing of the river
On its way to being free

It’s the galloping of hooves
Upon the gently giving sand
It’s the take off as the hunk of metal
Rises from the land

It’s truth defying form
As density’s released to light
It’s the wings that lift the delicate
Within their dream of flight

It’s the flame that burns within your heart
As you decide to see
That deep within the self you think you know
You’re always free

It waits within my consciousness
I wake to it and breathe
Its choir of perfect harmony
Becomes the heart of me

I rest within the gratitude
Of knowing I am whole
That this fragmented dream
Was over long long long ago

I rest within the beauty
Of the heart no trouble sees
As the darkest pain of suffering
Is all released through me

I rest within the certainty
That I will play my part
On the stage that I’m constructing
With the eyes that see the dark

I rest within the grace
Of myriad subtle energies
That satiate eternally
The ache of human need

I rest within the power
Of the light that is my home
As eternally I’m gentled
And eternally I’m known

Blossoming

A heart opening in gratitude and overflowing with love

Image created by author with NightCafe AI Art Generator

Softening your heart to me
As I begin within your sight
To blossom as the beauty
Of a prayer taking flight

And as the petals open
There is nothing left to hide
My nectar is unfathomably
Bare to your delight

You taste it at my heart
And you are nourished to your soul
The fountain of my holy water
Always is your home

And you can rest your hand
Upon the wall that holds the flow
And let your fingers dabble
In the soft and rosy glow

I offer you to gorge upon
The fountain at my core
To dip your head within her:
Soft, embracing, wholly warm

You lift your head to breathe
Having been sanctified and blessed
As you rest a while upon
The sacred pillow of my breast

I offer you to come to me
And rest a while inside
The holy law simplicity
Would never choose to hide

The sanctifying ardour
Of the heart that flower be
Eradicating meaningless desire
From its dream

And as we sit together
With our hearts abreast, in time
The memory of peace
Is clarified and realigned

I feel you moving into me
Our bodies are combined
The tissues that ensconced us
Giving way to the divine

I rest upon your shoulder
All my hesitance forsake
As I recognise eternity
In every breath we take

I have found my refuge
In the blossoming heart that yields
A reservoir of treasures
Flowing from the love that heals

I Become My Lover

The heart of you is rising in my deepest brightest soul

Image created by author with NightCafe AI Art Generator

I become my lover
In the mystery of the night,
He sees within my breaking heart
The waking of the light

I rest within my lover’s arms
His clarity I breathe
My misdirection altered
To the path he sees for me

He holds my head upon his breast
Undressing all my plight
Within his sacred purity
I recognise the light

He tears apart my misery
And shows me caverns gold
That sparkle in the luminescent
Beacon that he holds

My lover is the morning
He rids me with the dawn
Of nightmares that had wrapped me
In my terrors old and worn

He wakens me with sunshine
And he blesses all I see
With a misty mountain air
That my heart has longed to breathe

My lover is the poetry
That flows within my soul
That offers me its beauty
And that perpetrates my goal

My lover is the infinite
Impossibility
Of capturing the flow of life
That issues forth from me

My lover is the sanctity
That I can never own
But within which I live
And breathe and walk and love and grow

My lover is the lighthouse
And my mind the rocky shore
Endeavouring to unavail
The purity within my core

My lover is the mountain
And I the traveller be
Who sits a moment at his ridge
And views the shining sea

My lover becomes part of me
As now we cease to be
Anything that separation
Knows, pretends to see

My lover becomes part of me
As now we cease to know
Anything that separation
Seeks or tries to show
